Eric B. Dimario


Eric began practicing law in 2004. He joined Kiernan Plunkett & Redihan as an associate in 2010. His primary area of practice is civil litigation with a focus on claims involving negligence, product liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, nursing home liability, premises liability, construction disputes, real estate disputes, business disputes and title matters. In addition, Eric also counsels his clients on business planning matters, estate planning matters and real estate transactions. Mr. DiMario has extensive experiencing arguing matters in Rhode Island Superior Court and has successfully prosecuted multiple cases before the Rhode Island Supreme Court United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. 

Recently, Eric obtained a judgment in excess of $500,000.00 on behalf of a client that was assaulted in barroom. He was successful in defending an appeal seeking to overturn a $600,000.00 judgment. In an action involving a permanent brain injury with claims of breach of contract and bad faith, Eric argued multiple aspects of the litigation before both the United States District Court and Rhode Island Superior Court and ultimately obtained $11,000,000.00 in insurance coverage for his client.

Eric has lectured for the Rhode Island Bar Association on topics including dram shop law and liquor liability claims; the use of accident reconstruction technology in litigation; statutory arbitration; protecting client confidentiality in health care communications; and effective civil discovery techniques. He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Committee’s for Title Standards and Practices and Continuing Legal Education. Eric was named a Rising Star in Superlawyers magazine in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
