Thomas C. Plunkett
Thomas Plunkett began practicing law in 1975. He was a founding partner of Kiernan, Plunkett & Redihan in 1984. Throughout his career, he has practiced primarily in the areas of Insurance Defense, Title Defense, Personal Injury, Commercial Litigation, Environmental Law, Product Liability, Premises Liability, Professional Liability, Business Law, Construction Law, Government Regulation, and Trust & Estates. Mr. Plunkett is a very experienced trial attorney in both the state .and federal courts. In addition, he has argued numerous times before the Rhode Island Supreme Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Plunkett has lectured on Civil Practice and Procedure as a part of the Rhode Island Bar Association's CLE program. He has also lectured for the National Business Institute on the topics of Premises Liability, Personal Injury, and Environmental Law. In addition, he has lectured for the RI Bar Association and Defense Counsel of Rhode Island on the ethical obligations of attorneys to their clients.
Mr. Plunkett has been involved in nearly every major site contamination lawsuit in Rhode Island. His successes in this arena include successfully litigating a matter against an international oil company on behalf of owners of polluted property in Johnston. In his many years as an insurance defense litigator he has obtained numerous defense verdicts for national companies in premises liability and product liability lawsuits. He has also
